Gogmagog and Ludluda - tempted? Don't listen to us, listen to Gareth.

See also the extraordinary cover art by @ianmcque.bsky.social.
Recently finished the Gogmagog duology and can’t recommend them enough. Gorgeously surreal, alternate-universe post-war London, where the worldbuilding is the draw but the rich prose is what hooks you. The best written fantasy I’ve read in a long while.

From TEKKONKINKREET scene 1 cut 6, spectacular layout and hand-painted BG elements. The plan for executing this (including the 180° roll) is all from the great Shinji Kimura.

Ian McQue's MILESHIPS narrative art book is just splendid stuff from cover to cover. I really hope the publisher will be able to release it widely for more to enjoy ( it was Kickstarter funded ). My review coming soon.

Happy new year! 明けましておめでとうございます。

To kick off 2026, I decided to create a profile on Bluesky. As a 3D artist passionate about urban environments, I enjoy sharing photos of Tokyo and randomly talking about video games I enjoy. So follow me if that sounds interesting to you I guess.

I can relate to that. During the time I had to commute to the studio, I sketched different train passengers every morning/evening. With a ballpoint pen. You can choose any line thickness, from wafer-thin and delicate to opaque and bold. For a long time, the ballpoint pen was my first choice.

Thinking about how moving away from people-first is a growing trend, and how this is something quite important. It's been on my mind since my local McDonald's refurbished, and there's a reason for that.
