For today’s #FindsFriday, the Norfolk Carnyx!

An Iron Age war horn built to be seen and heard and to unsettle. Polybius wrote that its sound in battle seemed to 'emanate from the entire countryside'. More to come, including on #DiggingforBritain next week.

We’re incredibly proud of the PCA team behind the discovery of a remarkable Iron Age hoard in West Norfolk, including a near-complete carnyx and parts of another.

Working with Historic England and museum partners as conservation and research continue.

The algorithms are making it a lot harder to spread the word about these online talks. Although numbers are still reasonable, it would be a great help if folk were able to give the 30 December event a quick share 🙂

Always love a visit to Badbury Rings when I’m in Dorset. BA barrows, massive hill fort and Roman road!

Finally got round to visiting Denny Abbey, Cambs. I didn’t know about the Templar connection before my visit.

The UK Government promised a planning system that works for people & nature.

But as it stands, this Bill risks fast-tracking nature’s destruction.

We’ve joined others calling for urgent change.

Nature mustn't be written out of our future. 🚨

Right now, the UK Government is considering cuts to the nature-friendly farming budget – the biggest pot of funding for nature.

Here’s why that would be a disaster for farmers, food security, and wildlife.

A thread. 🧵👇
