Every dollar funneled to Hollywood executives is a dollar not spent on classrooms, educator salaries, or vital student resources. This debunked policy will drive Nevada off a fiscal cliff and will drain the General Fund, forcing huge cuts or steep tax hikes. #SchoolsOverStudios

Nevada should learn from the mistakes of Michigan, Georgia, New York, Maryland, Florida, and North Carolina. Instead, the Governor and #NVLeg ignore all available data and pretend "Vegas is different" when all it will do is drain resources from essential services like education and public safety.

Just months after increasing education funding by only $2 per student, the Governor and #NVLeg want a Special Session to give $1.65 billion in public money to Hollywood executives Help us stop this economically debunked policy!

This morning, NSEA spoke at the State Board of Education meeting. Item 10 relates to creating a policy agenda to guide its engagement with the #NVLeg. Nevada needs more aggressive voices to advocate for public education and the Board should adopt these policies. Be that voice students need.

Just another decision by the anti-public education trump administration to push policies eliminating essential support and protections for students.

By impounding funds appropriated by Congress, they are actively harming students and educators, and likely violating the law.

Incredibly disappointing to see Gov. Lombardo veto AB155 to include class size as a mandatory subject of bargaining. Nevada continues to struggle with the largest class sizes in the nation, and this is a direct result of the years of chronic underfunding of our schools. #NVLeg #TwoDollarSession

Nevada politicians spent the session railing against federal tax cuts for the rich and then turned around and did the same thing. If irony were taxable, we could fully fund our schools. While education goes underfunded, politicians are bending over backward to bankroll the Hollywood elite. #NVLeg
