I regret to inform everyone that my cat meme ad was rejected by Reddit and no one will ever see it's greatness. :(

It's been a couple of days since the last post BUT I DO HAVE TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS.

1. I now have an official Facebook page.

2. The LLC HAS BEEN APPROVED LETS GOOOOOO 🚀
March 30, 2025 at 10:03 AM
Man this LLC approval process is taking a bit. We're looking at over 15 days wait time at this point.

Nextdoor has been a great source of feedback so far and I've been grateful to hear from the locals about what they want in a local tech support business.

Learning!

Alright, it's been over 15 days. Today could be the day I finally get the LLC approval, come on!!!
March 17, 2025 at 12:09 PM
I've been marketing That Neighborhood Nerd for 3 days straight, got some feedback, doing good on that. Wrote a long form article on LinkedIn about my experience this morning and now I'm taking a break for the rest of the day! Whew!!!
March 16, 2025 at 12:26 PM
Today was a great and productive day! I got customer feedback for the first time on Nextdoor, I added an FAQs and Blog section to my website, I got my first early access form submission and I fixed a toilet! WOW!

Just a silly little ad for the website made with my phone 😊

Seeking advice from fellow small business owners online, I'm learning that 2 days of marketing is not enough to judge yourself on; I'm learning patience. 👀

So we're on day 3 of the pre-announcement of That Neighborhood Nerd on LinkedIn and Nextdoor, and the response has been positive but pretty light.

I guess these things take time and it's important to keep hammering the marketing message that, I'm here and I'll be ready!

Just launched the pre-announcement post on Nextdoor!

Reactions on LinkedIn have been positive but tepid. I'm learning that this marketing thing is going to be a task all on it's own.

Wish me luck!

So true.
Modern life.
Your virus checker: "RED ALERT! Your system is at RISK! Run NOW to detect security threats!"

You run the check.

Your virus checker: "One security issue found! ACT NOW!"

You click.

Your virus checker: "Issue #1: You have not given us permission to show pop-up ads. Resolve now?"

- Runs a command, it doesn't work
- Googles for the error message
- Somebody asked the same question online
- Answer: "Did you read what the error message tells you to do???"
- Goes back and reads the error message
- Does what the error messages says to do
- It works

This might or might not be me

Welp, lesson learned. 8 GBs of RAM is NOT good enough for a work computer. The thing froze while running a system scan and trying to multitask accessing Windows menus.

I'm resetting it now and taking advantage of a sale that just happened today on a better model. Thanks Best Buy!

What's your least favorite part of building a custom PC?

Mine? The amount of pressure it takes to secure a heatsink to a CPU. It really feels like you're gonna break it!!! 👀

*looks at work laptop he just bought*

Dang I guess I gotta work with 8GBs of RAM.

It'll do the job! I'm just so used to having 32 GBs on my main rig!

I can feel the difference!

Made my first large business expense. A laptop just for the business and computer troubleshooting. Nothing fancy, but enough to do the job! :) excited!
