BREAKING:
Finnish forces have boarded and seized the 132-meter-long Russian shadow fleet cargo vessel Fitburg moments after it destroyed 5 submarine telecommunication cables between Finland and Estonia by dragging its anchor on the seabed.

An LBC video from months ago came up on my IG feed and in it the guy said he was still working class despite owning 8 houses.

One comment defended him and said how it was how the economy works.

But then I started thinking and actually, landlords and renting aren't all that good for an economy.

My favourite part of the post-fight interview with Jake Paul, aside from him telling us his jaw is broken, was him saying that he wished his cardio had been better.

The guy who was dancing around for the first two rounds trying to avoid getting knocked out, didn't prepare his cardio?! Amateur.

Jake Paul looks knackered already. I feel like Joshua is letting him tire himself out before going in for the knockout blow.

I'd like to see the UK pull out of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.

Because let's be honest, it could be just us and Israel in it and we'd still come second.

A racist, an antisemite, a Russian stooge, an election fraudster and a tax dodger walk into a bar. The barman says "Good evening Mr Farage".

I don't want to be one of those Pompey fans, but the owners need to spend big in January.

There are quite a few positions we need to strengthen, and we need to start moving people on.

No room for sentiment when you're trying to survive in a league.

With the year coming to an end, and with FIFA seemingly able to create random trophies of their own to hand out, I think I'll do the same.

The Cnut of the Year award (misspelling is on purpose).

Might also do one to highlight the positives, particularly on social media.

Just reading up on what's happening at the FIFA World Cup draw today. Good god, just have a quick and simple draw like the FA Cup please?

I don't like all of this showbiz shit before, during and after football tournament draws.

Zia Yusuf on Question Time is an absolute arsehole.

On the channel crossings, he just shows he doesn't care. He doesn't care what your circumstances are, if you're illegal, you're gone.

Well done to @libdemdaisy.bsky.social for explaining why it is the men coming across first.

One thing from the budget I really don't understand is why they are introducing things so late.

The pay per mile on electric vehicles in 2028 and the pension taxation in 2029. If we're so desperate to raise money now, why are they introducing things so late that it'll barely affect public coffers?

I agree with Badenoch on a few things, in particular that taxing landlords will only force up rental prices. However, I don't believe she would sort the issue out as I can't see the Tories limiting the number of properties people own, something which would help people out.

The BBC needs to be careful with its headlines here, misleading compared to the reality they talk about underneath it.
November 26, 2025 at 1:54 PM
Sorry for not replying sooner.

I think government comms on this whole budget has been woeful. The leaks haven't helped in the slightest.

Although I agree with this policy in principle, there are other policies which I think would be better to tax wealth but also to get the property market moving

The criticism towards the Mansion Tax is ludicrous.

When poor people are struggling they're told to budget better and give up a luxury.

When someone who owns a £2m house is told to pay 2% of the value each year, they're defended and why should they give it up.

Maybe we're not all in this together

If you owned a company that made £100m in profit and the government looked to raise tax on your profits from 20% to 22% would you:

A) Leave the country and lose all that revenue
Or
B) Threaten to leave in the hope that the gov wouldn't go ahead with it but won't go because of revenue loss?

My frustration with the Lib Dems currently is that I'm hearing a lot about why Reform are bad, but not why LDs are good for me and good for the country.

It's something that I think @zackpolanski.bsky.social and @greenparty.org.uk are doing really well. It's also about why we should vote for them.
November 17, 2025 at 4:39 PM
Hey Labour, how about you stop with your, quite frankly, evil immigration plans.

They're not winning back the Reform supporters, they still think you're pro-immigration.

Maybe try and be a bit more human in your approach to other human beings.

One of the biggest things we need to take on are the Private Equity Firms owning our companies.

Their sole aim is to maximise profits and they'll see no problem with letting people go in order to keep profits and overwork the remaining staff.

Job losses are inevitable with tax rises under PEFs.
November 13, 2025 at 11:55 AM
With the rapid rise of AI, this can't all be pinned on the Labour Government.

While it is horrible for the people who have lost their jobs, it should help with lowering inflation, such is the arseholistic nature of supply and demand economics.

That left-wing BBC which constantly invites rabid communist Nigel Farage onto every show they possibly can. 🤦

Graham Stuart is the reason I can't vote Conservative. 14 years they were in office and decimated public services, yet he's quick to blame Labour for the issues with prisons.

He's not sorry for fucking us all over, he's just sorry we voted him out. His ilk is a stain on the party. #BBCQT
November 7, 2025 at 11:18 PM
Catching up on Question Time #BBCQT and Tim Stanley wanting someone sacked from the prison services for the mistaken release of prisoners.

Not sure creating a new vacancy which won't be filled will solve the problem. All prisons should be government run, with good pay and security.
