I really would like people to examine how capitalism invisibly influences all arts culture, like do you think the dominant form of music is 3 minutes, no frills, predicable repetitive structure, because that's what we inherently crave in our souls or some other reason? that's an obvious one

Leadfoot: Those guys were FREAKS.
She puts her sunglasses on as they exit.
Holly stands next to Bartholomew as Bartholomew looks at her nervously.
Holly: I think those guys were aliens, Bartholomew.

When engaging with serialized art, please, holy shit, treat it as what it is: part of a whole.
we've seen a pilot. this is like as if we were all talking about the first 10 minutes of a movie none of us had seen the rest of. As i said above, I'm not expecting tgirl rep! but we don't know.

As a creator, this a problem fandom has in general, and in particular anything with a "long" time between releases. this autocannibalistic approach to engaging with art that says because a creator is someone you can Post At means you're owed their attention/effort. for better or worse, you aren't.

i can hold space for that thought while also empathizing with every girl like me, so used to being the only tgirl she sees on a regular basis that she feels like some exotic bird, last of her kind, desperate to see herself in art that means something without having to make it her god damn self.

i do not expect a non-transfemme creator, especially a cis one, to make art that speaks to my experience in the same way a trans femme would. It can be a pleasant surprise, but it isnt the baseline to be expected. I think thats just, a useful way to protect yourself as a transfemme audience member.

We're being erased off the internet, our bodies/art labelled degenerate, our existence an explicit target of current regimes. our capacity for benefit-of-the-doubt thinking is low. Callousness is read as malicious transmisogyny when arguably its the baseline transmisogyny of the world we live in.

1) trans women are, largely, conspicuously absent from media championed as Queer (by its creators or community). In animation especially, we mostly voice cis men or throwaway bit parts in such projects.

2) you are not entitled to art you did not make being what you want it to be.
