You can even fine tune the layout using a handy inset slider and by positioning the crop frames manually.

You will be able apply the wallpaper cropped and sliced for your very own multi display arrangement.

There’s still some UI adjustments and testing to be done, but the basic functionality is there. ☕️

Okay, so there is a small but bug in the ultrawide wallpaper app. After a scene loads, when you start editing the whole image sometimes changes.

In the meantime, here’s a link to a demo image generated by the app:

App Icon decided. Used a great image that I have been using for a while already, but not as an app icon.

This will do for now.

After trying many different ways of setting color space/mode etc. for the wallpaper, it turned out that the preview image only “looked ok” as shown on the dark background. 🙄

I had forgotten that the render output has an alpha component. 🫥

My initial conversion worked fine on a correct image! 😅

I fixed some issues with the scaling and cropping, but there is still some sort of pixel format / color space issue.

The preview in the app is fine, but when used as a wallpaper the colors are way off.

Nobody said this was going to be easy…

I’ve been working on a little tool to create wallpapers for the Wide and Ultrawide Mac Virtual Display on visionOS 2.2.

The tesulting 10240x2880 images are about 10 MB

visionOS 2.2 is due to be released very soon.

One of the most awaited features is the Wide and Ultrawide Mac Virtual Display.

While waiting I am making some tweaks to the renderer to be able to create a few custom wallpapers in the new formats.
