Coincidentally I just read this was apparently in remarks made by Mark Nelson on announcing the BioSphere 2 project in the mid-1980s. I wonder where this quote originates. From the book “Dreaming the Biosphere” by Rebecca Reider.

I actually think the same thing almost word for word while watching those Nicole Kidman commercials before the movie at the AMC theaters lol

You take your seats. There are commercials, and trailers, and Nicole Kidman telling you that it's fun to attend the very theater chain you are currently in, which feels a little pointless, but you think that it's nice that she's getting work. All the while you are crunching on your popcorn, perhaps dry, perhaps soused in butter. Maybe you even asked the concessions worker if they could layer the butter, putting in a pump when the tub is half-full, and then another one top. The pre-show reel can now last up to 30 minutes after the scheduled showtime, so you've been there a while, and there's nothing to do, really, but keep snacking.

Literally yesterday I saw this Economist cover and mumbled under my breath, "Oh just fuck off already." Now this? Buying into the trans panic was the final straw for me a couple years ago and me cancelling paid for subscriptions and podcast follows. They've gotten even worse apparently.

If it wasn't clear in before it is perfectly clear now, billionaire owned news organizations, all of the big ones today, are *at best* crap approximations of real journalism driven by the whims of their billionaire owners on any topic that affects their owner's wealth and power status (most topics).

Fake cream has to be called "kreme". Fake cheese hase to be called "cheez." Billionaire-owned corporate reporting should have to be called "nooz."

While there is a total blackout on FoxNews.com about yesterday's protest NYT has the tiniest print headline only. Washington Post gave it a little bit bigger area but had it half way down the page and had to throw in a "whataboutism" post right next to it. MSM is just total fucking complicit trash.
