Nerd that likes good people, good games, and bad movies. No patience or space for bigots and gatekeepers.

My top two are National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Christmas can be stressful, but that's OK and will be OK in the end) and Klaus (gifts and gift giving are constructive and healing, /not/ just an afterthought or greed).

"Danger close" is a military term for calling in something like artillery or an air strike on a target with friendly forces nearby.

Was Concord "very bad", though? I remember part of the surprise at how badly it crashed was based on how it had no major functionality issues. It was an otherwise fine hero shooter with a couple odd mechanics and visual designs most found uninspiring at best, but crashed impossibly hard anyway.

Bro walked in, chucked a little string of firecrackers into the room, and bounced.

Though seriously, I'd be fascinated to hear why Avowed hit better for you than Clair Obscur.

In this case, I think it's just a naming quirk. Clair Obscur's "Story" difficulty still contains challenge, but is much more forgiving around missing the QTE inputs in battles. I'll admit, it's a little confusing that they called it "Story" when that usually means "trivial difficulty".

Its easy mode is accessible in Settings under the Gameplay tab after you've loaded a new game or a save. Easy mode is called "Story".

Stock trading is practiced vibe reading, and the prevailing vibe was, "Oh God, Orangina's actually gonna do it all," so the vibes from him just doing it a little feel way better in comparison. Then, it was just a race to buy low, and here we are.

Is it just me, or is it odd just how much more freely people are discussing Marvel Rivals leaks than for other games? To be clear, this isn't a dig at Paul, I've seen this from multiple places, it just feels like datamined and leaked info usually doesn't catch this much media traction.

A skill very much worth developing is transformative leftover recepies. Things like making fried rice out of old rice, searing a cube of refrigerated casserole in a pan, or roughly chopping day-old salad and using it as a sandwich topping are great ways to stretch leftovers in fresh ways.

I'm the first guy to support a person genuinely trying to get better, but Elon is proof that that self-improvement doesn't magically happen through financial success and expanding influence. Those can be a great way to make people worse.

Honestly, not a bad way to play it. It gives you a lot to process as it goes on, too, breaks can help keep it all straight and give time to digest it.

Ohh boy, brace yourself. You are in for one hell of a ride.

I struggle to get invested, whether it's little story chunks a week for nine weeks straight or little chunks a week for three blocks of three. Seasons felt like watching a TV show episode where commercial breaks last a week. What we have now isn't much better, three larger chunks with bigger gaps.

Ain't no raccoon too good for a free meal if they think they can get away with it.

Excellent take. Shutting down issues won't fix them, especially if they make someone a target for grifters. It took me until well into adulthood to consistently tell my own father, "I love you." I could only imagine growing up that emotionally stifled and isolated in today's environment.

Feels like we're headed towards a general slowdown for VR/AR headsets. Barring a very big surprise in functionality or accessibility around the corner, we've seemingly hit the limit for general interest in current VR, both low and high end.

Super Earth scientists are amazing, making it so lethal to bugs without hurting humans at all.

Having grown up in a very White cultural bubble, I've seen that argument a lot, even used offensively as opposed to defensively. Like, following that logic and concluding that the other perspectives are inherently disingenuous if they don't match up to one's own. It's maddening.

Of course, between live-service fatigue and piles of marketing missteps, it still has a lot to overcome if it wants to go the distance. But I think the bones are there for a great ongoing game if it gets the chance to continue on, at least going by my personal experiences so far. (7/7)
