The Trump administration said that it would suspend funding of food stamps and other hunger relief programs in Minnesota just as a federal judge blocked a similar effort to freeze funding for social services amid allegations of widespread fraud in the state.

The move was part of a broader effort to to freeze social services to some Democratic-led states amid a fraud investigation in Minnesota.

Does anyone want to play a professional learning game about instructional equity that I call "The Parliament Pit?" I am recruiting people who are proud to still be "nerds for justice" nowadays and I want to try out a new protocol that I call "parliament pit" because it is a learning pit 4 nerds.

Can't say I didn't warn you...

"Those betting on Trump's promise to bring back manufacturing risk... pushing us back to Gilded Age levels of inequality, and to a time when the 'good life' was accessible only to the robber barons, while the rest of America struggled to get by."

Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

The Dean “also clarified that faculty may assign textbooks with chapters that cover transgender identity, so long as they do not talk about the material or include it on assignments or exam questions.”

And they call this an education?

This is why some of us have been talking about the anti-diversity cancel culture. The more it is enforced by board members, who are like the supreme court of education, the harder it is to reinforce civil rights and human rights values.

Also, I am praying for social studies/DEI teachers. 🙏🏿

In 2026 I want all of the decent people to remember one thing.

You aren’t meant to be this disciplined, this self-sacrificing to survive. The environment is supposed to support good living. We can have that. You are not a failure. That is politics.

That is all.

Since there seems to be a flurry of Yglesias discourse on here today, here is my take. He recently joined the moral panic over teaching about race--on the side of the racists. And he gets critical race theory wrong because he superficially engages with it.
A Tent Big Enough for Bigots but Too Small for Critical Race Theory
Like so many of critical race theory's detractors, Matthew Yglesias fails to engage with the actual scholarship.

What.
FOX: If you cut something by 100%, the cost goes down to 0. If you cut it by 600%, the drug companies are actually paying you

LUTNICK: What he's saying is if a drug was $100 and you bring it down to $13, it's down 7 times

F: Not a 600% cut

L: But it's 700% higher price before. It's down 700% now
