I tend to agree & am still nauseously optimistic. But Trump 1.0 was a failure of the imagination. Trump 2.0 is an even greater failure of the imagination with all the absurdity. We can’t underestimate the fragility of Trump’s ego & the lengths to which he/cronies will go to protect it & stroke it.

Exactly. If Trump wants to reduce the damage of tariffs on Americans, maybe don’t levy tariffs on the whole world in the first place? On the other hand, if he got rid of tariffs, he’d also have to get rid of his *entire* foreign policy strategy that compels countries to come & “petition the king”
