i did a playthrough of Metroid Prime 1-3 (emulated, with the fan upscaled textures and all that) using a mouse for aiming and a left-handed VKB flight stick (from my elite:dangerous 2 stick setup) for the rest of the controls.

yep. You can choose stealth with the unpowered version (they're also the size of a stubby screwdriver for easy concealment), or speed with electric.

heh that's too far back for me, I left cassettes behind as soon as CD players were affordable enough to be considered by my parents for birthday/xmas presents.

I got much more Frazetta influence from the Dragon's Crown art. Vallejo's style is a lot closer to realism with bodybuilding influence.
Frazetta's were much more stylized and dynamic, with the emphasis being taking "normal" (pretty, athletic, but not bodybuilder) features and dialing them to 11.
