I was out with my post boxing pal when we arrived at this post box at the same time as the postie. We asked if we could take a photograph of the inside as we were members of @lbsg1976 and we were having our AGM around the corner. 📮 #postboxsaturday #PostBoxDiary

At first glance this is just another shabby looking George V Type B pillar box, but that shabbiness reveals its past as a blue Airmail post box! One of the failed post box experiments from the 1930s. 📮 #postboxsaturday #PostBoxDiary

Today's letter is stampless because it is going par avion and I don't have enough room on the envelope to make the postage up to £3.20 with random stamps. Also the local post office doesn't sell international stamps so they have to print a large one off for it. 💌 #PromoteLetters

If you are wondering what #PostBoxPreservationDay is all about it is to mark the 10th anniversary of this document which outlines the commitment to manage and conserve post boxes in the UK. 📮 And yes, of course I still have the original paper version of this.
