Which is awful in its own way, since the Navy does need new ships. Just.. ones that would .. you know, work.

It’ll also have hypersonic missiles we haven’t developed yet and rail gun cannons that we gave up developing in the 2000s.

Have those nerd been introduced to Kieran Gillen’s DIE? It might be up their alley.

The TNG technical manual was so amazing.

If you squint harder, the face is hard at work creating fraudulent credit accounts.

I mean, Wells Fargo is kind of demonstrably terrible, I guess.

While I’m still thinking on this - the Epic D&D format I’m working for at the moment is a good substitute. Multiple tables in the same setting, overarching plot lines, but you can’t decide to just go over and fuck over another table because you want to.

Back at you, nerd. Run a game or something.

We… have literally been doing this about the same time frame. I may, in fact, be older than you, whipper snapper.

It’s why my game planning at this point is 1-3 pages of bullet points with 1-2 paragraph NPCs whose stats are mostly pools and effects.

Agreed, though I will also posit I find the replacement (blockbuster larps) faintly distasteful in their cost, player selections, and pre-builds.
November 29, 2025 at 5:32 PM
Depending on how OWBN is doing, we may be the last thousand player game of any networked larp. Which is.. good. I think networked larps have inherent contradictions that are mostly impossible to square.

LOL. Am I claiming you aren’t one of the best people to run Werewolf, certainly the best at the scale of networked games? Of course not.
November 29, 2025 at 4:54 PM
It certainly plays better than “hahaha enjoy your losing fight losers” tone.
November 29, 2025 at 3:44 PM
I mean, the notion of the Apocalypse not being the end has now been the prime plot point of two editions of Werewolf (MES and 5th)
November 29, 2025 at 3:43 PM
So we’ll try this and see where it goes.
November 29, 2025 at 12:23 AM
It’s too easy to have players get lost, with no real sense of “what now”, beyond “well, I guess we... burn the whole thing down? Or become reformers?” And let me tell you, the story of six werewolves who all become politicians is.. not super interesting.
November 29, 2025 at 12:23 AM
This should help one problem with running Werewolf - the “ok, what now” issue. The thing is, is stupidity is rampant, you get rid of the stupidity and then you ... still have the world ending, still have banes baning.
