One of the most destructive perspectives of modernity is that your ancestors either no longer exist, or remain inaccessible until we join them in death. But they're not dead, and not gone; they're with you constantly, or can be... You, too, can prepare for that role, during this lifetime.

One of the most destructive perspectives of modernity is that your ancestors either no longer exist, or remain inaccessible until we join them in death. But they're not dead, and not gone; they're with you constantly, or can be... You, too, can prepare for that role, during this lifetime.
Everything is within you, yes, because reality is most plausibly intersubjective. Meaning everything is also within me, and you affect my subjective world by an imperceptible mode of transformation. More in the essay "What Can We Say of What Is?"

So-called civilization has been cultivating unthinking ppl since hierarchical societies with anointed religious authorities. The printing press set them back, but only until mass media arrived. Our dystopia wasn't born in the 20th Century :)

Terence McKenna, like so many thinkers wearing rose-tinted glasses, misunderstood how accurately human society's leaders reflect our nature and culture. Until you discover empirical metaphysics, you won't understand why.
You know, I'm 70 years old, and I've been thru hell, climbed close to heaven, and touched back down here on Earth, which had everything necessary for humans to thrive. Greed has destroyed much. Maybe it's too late to save it. But we need to try.
