Right in the thick of #AutismAwareness month I’m still seeing ppl on the other place referring to autism as a mental health condition, autistic ppl being “placed” on the spectrum and use of the terms High/Low Functioning.

We have a long way to go….

Always knew the culture wars would come for neurodivergent people next. Conservatives hate people who refuse to conform more than anything.

Any joyful expression outside the norm infuriates these repressed assholes.

❗ The UK Government must prioritise our relationship with the EU over sucking up to Trump.

The EU is our nearest, biggest and more reliable trade partner.

Trump's US is hostile, chaotic and has proven it's no friend of the UK.

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...
Sex Redefined: The Idea of 2 Sexes Is Overly Simplistic
Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

RFK Jr. wants to eradicate autistic people and also has no idea what an autistic person is

The speech by RFK Jr indicates that autistic people are a disease. Also we can't pay tax, or hold a job, play sports, be creative, or go on dates, he says.
And if we don't agree that we're an epidemic that will cost 'a trillion dollars' for society, we're deniers of reality.
👀
Well, no.

The only thing worse than non autistic people telling autistic people that we aren’t disabled is OTHER autistic people telling us that we aren’t disabled because of their own lateral ableism.

I find it strange when I talk about an autistic experience, I'll occasionally get a "not everyone who does that is autistic" response

I never said it was an autism-only thing? If I say people with a cold often sneeze, I'm not saying only people with a cold can sneeze

Autistic boundaries aren’t just about saying no.

They’re about unlearning the story that our needs are too much.

About stopping the self-abandonment we were taught was kindness.

Boundaries aren’t selfish.

They’re how we come back to ourselves and honor our needs.

In order TO LIVE.
