🔥 Sharing accurate information is my role in the revolution.
Since it’s apparently the early 2000’s again, I will be posting song lyrics like Facebook statuses.

“Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah”

If anyone is keeping track, I (an American) do not give two shits about whether or not Zelenskyy wears a suit in the Oval Office.

NIH UPDATE: NIH employees are reportedly still being barred from dispersing funds despite two temporary restraining orders (issued on 1/29 and 2/3). This means Tr*mp is continuing to enforce his EO in violation of these court orders.

Happy🫀day.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the US and has been since 1950.

In 2023, $2.88 billion in NIH funding went to lifesaving heart disease research.

Without that funding, better treatments or cures will go undiscovered.

Without that funding, more Americans will die.

Georgia received $780 million in #NIH funding in 2023. This money supported 11,816 jobs for Georgians. The money generated a total of $2.18 billion in economic activity in GA in 2023.

That federal $ pays salaries of Georgians who spend money to stimulate local and state economies. (1/2)

There is another avian flu strain that has jumped from birds to dairy cattle. Another species jumping mutation increases likelihood of human infection.

There is also a case of bird flu transmission from cat to human. This was included in this week’s CDC MMWR, but was removed from the report. (1/2)

I’m going to try to keep adding to this. Here are some info resources if you need information while the HHS has been forced to halt communications and data reports.

The President signing an executive order that basically says “the official position of the U.S. government is to deny scientific fact” is some prologue-of-a-dystopian-novel level garbage.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

No blastocyst is making reproductive cells “at conception”.

Differentiated gonads aren’t formed until around week 7 gestation.

Egg production doesn’t begin until week 7-8 gestation.

Sperm production doesn’t begin until puberty (age 10-12).

Executive orders don’t make science go away.
