The NEU is preparing detailed supplementary evidence to the STRB. Unions have jointly urged the Secretary of State to deliver fully funded above inflation pay awards, restore real terms pay and recognise that investment in teachers is essential. 4/4

The government has proposed a 6.5% rise spread over three years. This is a real terms pay cut and would be funded from existing school budgets, with an open invitation for schools to cut more support staff. 3/4
