honestly we've returned to the mike johnson era
Pens' current streak of losing 4 straight goalie interference challenges is the second-longest they've ever had when challenging these calls. Lost their first 6 from 11/27/15 through 12/23/16 (1 by Johnston, 5 by Sullivan).

Skinner + Kulak = 5.35 M cap hit combined, both UFAs after the season. Jarry at 5.38 for this + 2 more seasons. Almost dollar for dollar, which is what Oilers needed. Pens get 2nd-rounder as well. Sets the stage for Murashov.

Penguins now have $54 million in cap space this coming off season per PuckPedia.
Honestly that is probably as good of a return as they could have hoped for Jarry. I am not sure they are any worse right now and gained big salary cap space in the future when they'll really need it.

This was to finally move Jarry’s contract. No clue what they’re going to do with Skinner.
Murashov has to be on the roster now.
Maybe there’s another trade afloat. Sometimes the first trade triggers another move. Working within the restraints of a cap system makes it necessary.
