Me when the temperature finally drops below 25 and there's a bit of a breeze: Let us hike ALL THE MOUNTAINS! I will finally take up jogging! Parkour! No trains, walk everywhere! I am Nature Girl, cover me in leaves and flowers!

(Usually lasts about a day before I'm back on the sofa with a book.)

Jason Blum's take on AI sucks. an AI takeover isn't inevitable, and treating it as such (while also referring to filmmaking as "content creation," smdh) helps AI companies promote the lie that their deeply unprofitable, destructive tech is more powerful and useful than it actually is.

We need a bigger national spotlight on this building raid, fam. Agents dropped from helicopters onto the roof. Citizens and non-citizens alike were dragged from their homes in the night. People who weren't kidnapped during the raid had their belongings seized after the fact. This is madness.

Every time I attend a 'talk event' or read an interview with a filmmaker who IS really great at talking about their work it's so exciting, because yes, I think it's a very different skill set that a lot of very talented filmmakers don't have.

I never thought about how biopics make it easier for people who have a hard time judging an actor's skill to say "they copied that actual person's mannerisms perfectly, therefor they're a good actor," so true.

I feel like it creeps earlier and earlier every year. Used to never see any job hunting-related absences till the 4th year, then started seeing them at the very end of the 3rd year, and now I'm seeing them at the very beginning of the autumn semester.

Oof, already seeing 3rd yr students absent due to job hunting stuff. Can the keidanren and Japanese companies overall just let these kids be kids for a bit longer? J. university already feels more like a 3-yr program instead of a 4-yr cause they basically spend the entire 4th yr doing job stuff.
