I've always enjoyed President Oaks's talks. He has such a meticulous, thoughtful, and calm approach to speaking that it's easy to picture him in his earlier career as a judge. Excited for his new leadership!

On FB I commented that it's crazy how much people agree with their political parties. So many issues, and you just happen to align with your party on ALL of them? That should make you suspicious of your sources of information.

NOT well received. Two 2nd Amendment enthusiasts took it personally.

May not be a *great* movie, but it sure TRIES some stuff, keeps moving, and is genuinely fun. 4 stars, easy.

I had Tiny Desk on my mind, and when I saw that picture, I had this long moment of staring, trying to make sense of why a band would bring all that produce to their set and what kind of instruments those guys are playing behind the produce.

And now I kind of want to see that concert. 💔

TMBG was my first concert too! My sister took me. They were opening for Chicago, which was the bigger draw for my sister, but at the end of the night, there was no question which band was more fun to watch. July 4, 2000. Rice Eccles Stadium.

I'm youngest of nine kids, so I have tones of nieces/nephews. My wife and I were complaining to her brother that all the good baby names were already taken. He said, "You could always name him Maher Shalal Hash Baz." I had to laugh as I said, "It's taken!" It's my nephew's middle name.

This is a great analogy, and if I were in the room when someone made this joke, I would laugh. 10/10

How was Executioner's Song? It's on my TBR shelf. Haven't been able to work up the enthusiasm to tackle it yet...

Last Christmas by Jimmy Eat World. The tone is much more appropriate for the words than the tone of the original
