I've done variations of that, for sure, especially where there are traits that clearly delineate a right answer. But I love the creativity that the open-ended discussion board version brings out.

This year they're mostly agreed that various dragons/wyverns are somewhere in Archosauria (although beyond that they're probably polyphyletic), but there was more debate about the placement of the Xenomorph from Alien and the TurtleDuck from Avatar the Last Airbender.

Yes, this. I use "natural history" as a shorthand for "how does it live its life and make its way in the world?", which includes all of these things. A blend of behavior, ecology, and life history.

I agree with the person in the comments on the original post who said that big production values are for the big screen; most dramas, comedies, etc. are fine on the TV at home.
