This is an amazing reminder that you don't need to feel on top of the world every day; we are human. I find many people hold themselves to perfection every day, which is not realistic, and we need to take days to reset and remember the basics, such as the food we eat! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
If today feels a little sluggish, that is normal. A balanced meal and some light activity usually help more than any drastic changes. Keep the day steady and practical. #RealWorldNutrition

As a future healthcare provider, it has brought to my attention the importance behind what it means to have a healthy lifestyle and the problems that individuals may face while fighting through this battle. It is an endless journey that we keep helping patients through! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Every Thanksgiving meal when my sister picks cranberries in Rhode Island and makes an amazing cranberry spread. In addition to frozen/fresh cranberries, we also have canned cranberries. It is very interesting to taste the difference between the two and how they ferment! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
Cranberries are naturally tart, which is why most cranberry products have added sugar. Fresh or frozen cranberries are a different story and offer antioxidants, fiber, and a sharp flavor that works in both sweet and savory meals. A small boost with real benefits. #RealWorldNutrition

I'm looking forward to my sister's green bean casserole! She has been making it every year, which is originally my grandmother, but it always has a spot on my plate. I'm going to my sisters in Rhode Island and was asked to make roasted asparagus, which I'm excited about! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

That is a great choice! When it comes to the USDA, they are a very reputable source. The many options help different families learn how to eat clean and healthy foods. The simplicity of the website is a great way which make it easy to prepare meals for kids of all ages! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
I chose this source on children’s nutrition needs because it comes from the USDA. It emphasizes variety, eating meals as a family, and making good nutrition as easy as possible. For example, designating a shelf for healthy foods for kids.

Ms. Rael is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, which adds credibility to her articles and claims. On her website, you can see that the page is presented so that a patient can understand, and it is not covered with ads. She is an example of a great referable resource!! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

It is written by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which is a government-run agency that is respected and conducts active research. There are no ads, it has the domain of ".gov", and it is written simply and clearly.

It is important to remember that simple foods, such as Greek Yogurt, can be quick add-ons that you can incorporate into your meals. Many diets overcomplicate what to eat and how to live on a day-to-day basis. We all need to take a step back and remember the basics! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Tom Carroll taught me that lasting change comes from consistency, not perfection. He ate the same Chick-fil-A salad every day, cut out alcohol, and lost 132 lbs. As a future PA, I need to remember not to overcomplicate a problem that can be solved with healthy habits. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

It would be interesting to examine the long-term effects of a vegan diet on a person's metabolic rate. I wonder whether, depending on an individual's prior diet, it would be too dramatic a switch or an additional pathway for individuals trying to lose weight. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I learned that weight loss is an ongoing fight and that you can easily fall back into old habits. The results showed how hard it can be for someone to lower their metabolic rate. I now have a better understanding of the challenges people face when trying to lose weight. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

All types of seafood are great ways you add nutrients to each of your meals. I have found it very easy to cook fish and mix it in with veggies to make a healthy bowl for the day. Coming from Maine, I spear fish with many of my friends, which we can eat for the week! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I struggle during the summer before work to plan, shop, prepare, and cook healthy foods for the day. I am able to notice a big difference between the days that I eat healthy, compared to the quick grab-and-go at a gas station. The photo provided is a rare meal prep day! #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

Living in Maine, I was exposed to all kinds of seafood, which I now love. When I first tried octopus, I was nervous about the tentacles! However, I ended up loving it, and it is a regular part of my meal at restaurants. It's a great source of protein and vitamins! @beh353.bsky.social #beh353

I researched the carnivore diet: meat, poultry, eggs, seafood, fish, dairy, and water. Many influencers try the diet, and I wondered about the long-term effects it can have. It can cause weight loss, improve blood sugar, but it can also negatively affect heart health.

I drink coffee every morning, not always thinking of how many cups I have or how much sugar and add-ons I use. This reminder is key that moderation=life. Coffee can benefit you, but not when you overdo it! Be mindful of the syrups, sauces, and cold foam you add in the AM!

Reflecting over the past 24 hours, I realize I have eaten a lot of Mexican food! It was easy to keep track of everything I ate because it remained consistent throughout the week. I maintain a relatively clean, balanced diet with a high amount of protein, carbs, and fats! #[email protected]

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for carbs is 130 grams per day. This minimal amount needed to supply the brain and nervous system is just enough glucose to function correctly. While many people surpass this, it shows how vital carbs are to keep our brains running!
