Right…I didn’t consider the moonlight at all. I got around 15 minutes of stacked exposures, and the image kept getting clearer. I think the final result would’ve looked even better had I waited longer.

AI boom starting to look a lot like
modern barter system. Same few players, trading investments in a closed loop and inflating each other’s valuations. How much is real demand vs internal momentum though? Intoxication around AI & the big players is clouding how self referential this all is.

Using the Seestar S30, and I’m really impressed - easy to set up, efficient, and takes amazing shots. Great for beginners!

Seestar S30. It’s basic but good enough for beginners. My son has the S50 which has more advanced capabilities but with the same ease of use.

All the infrastructure and instruments of justice, starting & ending with SCOTUS, are in their hands. The opportunity to fortify was squandered during Obama’s and then Biden’s administration. Cynical perhaps, but pushback in the current scenario might delay but not deter the all round destruction.

Another good episode. Tim Harford connects the cautionary tale to social media…rightly so, but I found it even more relevant to this current administration and the transient, transactional ties that define it. Worth a listen.

Ever get that feeling where intuitively something makes perfect sense, but defies common logic? In quantum physics, superposition - being in multiple states at once, explains this paradox. Irrational in the classic sense but mathematically perfect.
IRL though, it’s just called going nuts…or is it? 🤪

That means flying ✈️ or shipping 🚢 looks better.

Yes, this just made transporting inputs from abroad *more* competitive.

It's like taxing bikes to reduce road congestion.

The blurred silhouette of the little child being zip tied made me sick to my stomach. How do we look at this and turn the other way like it’s business as usual? The helplessness to not be able to impact the situation is beyond draining.

Stranded asset risk feels like a key differentiator. I’d imagine neocloud GPUaaS outfits mitigate it by staying closer to off the shelf configurations, whereas hyperscalers chase efficiency through custom racks and end up with less flexible assets.

From the (very) little that I know…GPUs are reusable & can reallocated unless the previous set up was heavily customized. Underutilization is probably the bigger concern due to bespoke configurations. Also fiber optics more general purpose & passive than GPUs & would probably depreciate much slower.
