When businesses are paid on time, money flows more quickly allowing businesses to invest rather than wasting time and money chasing unpaid invoices.

I support tougher laws to ensure fast payment of invoices and penalties for persistent late payers.
Late payments: tackling poor payment practices
We are seeking views on legislative measures which address late, long and disputed business-to-business payments, and the use of retention clauses in construction contracts.

Magnificent togetherness and support on the #SaveOurScarlets march to Parc Y Scarlets today.

Llanelli and our region stood united to send The Welsh Rugby Union a clear message – keep the Scarlets at the forefront of regional rugby and let us play a full part in the future of our national game.

📢After months of campaigning, I'm pleased to confirm Carmarthenshire will receive £20m additional funding through Labour's Pride in Place Programme. 📢

That means an EXTRA £2m every year for the next 10 years - investment in facilities, support local jobs & our communities.

Enjoyed visiting Men’s Shed Cwm Gwendraeth this morning to see the difference it makes to the lives of its users.

It was lovely to meet with, and hear from, those who have benefitted from the opportunity it provides to come together, learn new skills and foster new friendships.

I’ve long supported calls for a #HillsboroughLaw & I’m proud the Labour Government today delivers on its promise to introduce it.

The new law will ensure truth, candour and justice after tragedy and has only been made possible through the efforts of families and campaigners over several decades.

Tory & Reform MPs last night voted against boosting working conditions.

Labour's Employment Rights Bill turns the page on an economy blighted by insecurity, poor productivity & low pay.

We’re delivering a fairer future for work. Yesterday brought real change a step closer.

As Welsh rugby tries to find a way forward for its regional teams, Llanelli and the Scarlets should have a key role to play in its future.

Show your support by signing this petition calling for our town and region to remain at the forefront of our national game.

Good luck to everyone in #Llanelli receiving A Level, AS Level or vocational qualification results today. You’ve all worked so hard!

Whatever you choose to do next - further study, university, an apprenticeship or entering the world of work - this is the beginning of a new chapter of your life.

On Friday, I unveiled a plaque to celebrate Llanelli Railway Goods Shed Trust winning a National Railway Heritage Award for preserving the historic Goods Shed Office building for community use.

I chaired the Trust for 13yrs & I’m delighted it has been recognised. A huge thanks to all involved.

As promised in our election manifesto, an inquiry is to be set up to find answers to the many serious questions raised by events at #Orgreave forty years ago.

We're going further and faster to protect our national security and maximise the economic growth potential of the UK defence sector.

Thousands of jobs in #Wales are directly supported by the Ministry of Defence - we’re well placed and must be ready to benefit from this investment.

Wales has huge potential & our Industrial Strategy will harness the strengths of our businesses & workforce, supporting key sectors & developing industries of the future.

It’ll make Wales one of the best places to invest in - boosting growth, raising wages & creating new jobs.
