I’ll get army shots right one day - my phone just blows contrast through the roof - but it’s definitely a scheme that works better as a collective than on individual models.

I’ve also been working on The Blood Of The Bull as part of this - so I’m all prepped to play underworlds as well as spearhead, should the mood take me.

Im still a bit wobbly on my colour choices, but I am finding it hard to find any fault in these gorgeous models. Dripping with flavour and really beginner friendly I think. Lots of nice textures to paint and I’m excited to expand them out.

So close to finishing painting my first two spearheads - the ironjawz bigmob charge headfirst into the helforged host, in a battle of fire and ice.

A real treat for me - managed to get hold of a set of gorkamorka ork boyz, and have been working on restoring them to be tabletop legal.
These 28(ish) year old sculpts are some of my favourites - you can clearly see the modern ork aesthetic we know and love blossoming and evolving. History!

Tabletop ready cohort. Still need to finish their sub assembly shields, redo the weapon glows, and apply transfers - but they’re more or less there. Just the bombard to go!

I’m about halfway through the Helsmiths project, with quite an out-there colour scheme. Almost finished the second half-unit of Cohort, then it’s just the Bombard and the Blood of the Bull to go!

My Beast Snagga Deff Dread might not have proved himself da biggest and da strongest in the latest episode of ARENA OF DEATH, but rest assured - my best Meks are on the case, fixin’ him right up for a rematch with the closest beaky dread he can get his klaws on!

Some truly amazing Golden Daemon winners this week, but the one that I love the most is Matthew Siddy’s kroot. I’m a real sucker for a relatively “simple” entry executed absolutely flawlessly. Reminds me of Gavin Garza’s winning skink. Just gorgeous, immaculate technique.

I was really worried my Dominator would end up like some of my early Ork vehicles, so I’ve lost what is left of my mind and gone for a bright pinky purple bull dreadnought. Is this a mistake? I don’t know yet!!

Still minus shields, the first unit of the spearhead is done now. I’m liking everything more as a full unit, and I’ll persevere with the spearhead - still unsure if I’ll continue past this and the underworlds unit however.

Many test minis later, I think I am pretty much at a workable colour and base scheme for my helsmiths.
The actual models have quite a few more little details and extra parts, so it’s still daunting to get started - but the time is nigh.
