Post Primary - English and History. Here to keep in the loop for education related matters.

Books 📚 Music 🎶 & Running 🏃‍♂️ also of interest.
Recommended by my principal and at several points by others this year - one of many summer reads that are ongoing.

Enjoying it so far and finding the examples used more relatable to Ireland than many similar books often provide.

Nice one Aoife. Always find your texts so helpful. Hopefully will get 5th years and a chance to use it.

Leading with the Heart by Coach K.

I'm working my way through this book at the moment.

I find it's easy to engage with this one as it's based around teamwork and our role within it as leaders. Someone recommended it to me, and it's just a solid read. 📚

Shame no one has a chalkboard to reenact this scene while teaching it... youtu.be/dPi40lQetew?...

Hopefully there is somewhere provides to watch it or you're going to need a bigger budget...

You get to work with interesting people and help actually have a tangible impact on people's lives.

My mum taught in the same school for her whole 41 year career. People still stop her and talk about being her student.

Not many professions have that impact on a person's whole life. ##edchatIE

Paying a hefty cost to have qualifications "assessed" too... #edchatIE

For those of a pre-Teaching Council vintage... what was the process for proving you were qualified in the past? Was there a standardised one...? #edchatIE

Is there any common issue with registering? Is it subject specific issues or a Droichead thing? I know many people have issues getting incremental credit recognised for work abroad and that's been a deterrent to some #edchatIE
