Flagrant Gen Xer; humble artist; stealthy yet disruptive librarian (as all librarians are); enthusiast for family, friends, pets, nature, and Oxford comma. Single spaces after periods, though.
My bad! The author’s name is COLL Muir. Sorry! I was confidently incorrect and didn’t double check!

If there’s a book challenge in my district, they form an entire committee of teachers and parents, then everybody reads the book. Then they have certain criteria that they feel book must achieve in order to remain in the curriculum or on the shelf. It’s a whole process. We haven’t banned a book yet.

“Age appropriate” is one thing, and that should be the call of a highly qualified librarian. Some high school kids are most certainly ready for 1984 and the Handmaid’s Tale. The book is not the series. I have Watership Down in my elementary library. Little kids aren’t interested, but older ones are.

If this is in my country, I’m moving to Antarctica.

Thank you! I knew I wanted to put the lighthouse out there, and my teammate came up with the idea of adding the underwater scene. :)
