I hope you’ll consider adding some movies to that list, too. Or perhaps making a separate list for movies in that vein.

If I had a few billion dollars to throw around and wanted to save America, my priorities would be: fund progressive economic and law research, charter schools oriented in the same way, start 501c3s and 4s to act on that research, organize legal groups to get judges on the bench, and fund primaries.

Check out Democracy in Chains by Nancy MacLean. What we’re seeing today is the culmination of an over 60 year effort. In short, start a few law schools, progressive 501c3s, fund liberal economic and legal scholarship, and executive produce movies about labor movements.

Take a minute to consider what's happening and whether or not Biden should pardon his son.

DOGE is equal parts a comical critique of capitalism and elevation of a billionaire to a quasi-supervisory role over his vendors. What could go wrong?

Two things can be true. Biden went back on his word in pardoning Hunter. But the idea that this pardon shakes Americans’ confidence in the rule of law compared to anything Trump has done or will misses the mark.

It was Elie Wiesel who said that “neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.” The law, like many other things, is a tool to be wielded. By whom and for what ends matter a great deal. Similarly, I think Geddy Lee sung the famous line “if you choose not to decide you still have made a choice.”

Is this the sort of free market capitalism Republicans fawn about?

As we’ve seen, it’s not beyond some justices to reach and create legal frameworks that some lower judges then use to dismiss an entire case on a ground not before them. I’m looking at you, Florida.

That’s why it’s incredibly important over the next four year to avoid distractions, be precise in language, and calibrate our reactions appropriately.

Online bullying works. Don’t be surprised if DeSantis nominates him to fill Rubio’s seat in the senate.
