Kent 🏳️‍🌈. Married/Retired. Retro music & TV/themes, current affairs, history, weather/maps, surrounded by Sindy/Barbie, sometimes interesting and occasionally nice.
Do you think I live with an obsessive? The first set includes Vanessa. The Ariel dolls mostly car boot and charity shop finds. We need to win the lottery and get a bigger place. 🙂

I suppose she should be included 😄

Rich, you wanted to have a look at some of the Disney Princess Dolls.

There are some recent additions to the street furniture that are pleasant to see. The local knitting group are still going with their mailbox toppers. If it ever dries up, I might go on a local walking tour before the weather gets to them further as the reindeer already look a little bedraggled..

Latest renovation from car boot in September.

A 2013 Bridge Direct 'Pinkie Cooper and The Jet Set Pet Dolls' now back in an original outfit with only some minor staining. The fashion dolls were only on sale in 2013/2014, and they were modelled after the English Toy Spaniel dog breed.

A busy day for the husband with the dolls and another restoration. A relatively good condition Tammie, a friend of Pippa doll circa 1973/74 with the walking mechanism still functioning. Wearing a dress from "The Athens Collection". The only real remaining flaw is her head is paler than her body.

The latest doll restoration is a Palitoy Action Man c1970 that certainly has seen war action. He is wearing the black sweater and gun and holding a grenade from the "French Resistance" outfit. He has little dents & holes in his face and torso, cracks in his right wrist, and left foot falling off. 😊

Thank you, Joe. I'm not particularly artistic, and it will do. There was a nice sunset this evening.

The tree is up. It was from Woolworths (1996) and our first Christmas together.

This doll was a charity shop find and a slight mystery as we are not 100% sure who she is. Google Lens would have us believe a Kewpie Doll from the 1970s, and the doll was made in Japan, but that may not be correct. Her bright orange hair is certainly eye-catching..

A great car boot find from September was this rare Bratz Passion 4 Fashion Destiny Doll. We obtained her additional outfit, just missing her trainers. Destiny was known as 'dynamite'. The doll dates to 2009. Some of the original Bratz & Monster High dolls can now command vintage Barbie prices.
November 21, 2025 at 10:20 AM
Another doll restoration. This is a 2013 Music Festival Draculara Monster High Doll found in a charity shop. The outfit is mostly complete. She is missing a lanyard and part of her left earring. The bulk of the time with this doll was spent removing glue from her hair by using furniture polish.

The latest addition to the collection is a 6.5-inch "pocket-sized" fashion doll, Palitoy Pippa, her friend Mandy, wearing a dancing Pippa dress. The doll would have originally cost 50p & outfit 60p in 1975.

This doll is in overall good condition, but shame, the tips of her toes are missing. 😊

The troll shelf has been rearranged.
I need to find a riser a cm higher than the current one because I misjudged the height of their hair. 😊

That's a nice one. We do have a few used for display purposes.

Things I might be lucky to witness if I live long enough:

The average price of a 1990s TY Beanie Baby reaches the original £4.99 / £5.99 purchase price.

This was the collectable investment that went disastrously wrong. However, Buckingham now sells for £3, but it wasn't a good pension plan. 🤣

Flu jab done. As GP surgery on the sea front can report no real flooding threat yet 😊

On the distant horizon towards the left, if you can see a few specs of white, then hello Southend on Sea.

I believe some scenes from The Heartstopper Film were filmed here, but we have to wait until next year.

The latest Russ Troll was a nurse with dirty hands and apron, and well, with hospital hygiene, you can't have that, so she was made to have a thorough wash. Her nurse's cap kept falling off, which you wouldn't want in the middle of an operation, so there has been a bit of stitching.

Current conditions at the sea front & low tide. Occasional gusts are hitting the car.

One day, the old pier head you can just a out see in the distance will be completely destroyed, perhaps soon.

The latest addition to the Doll Collection is another Russ Troll doll. Another car boot find the husband brought it back to near new, a few tiny marks on the face. No 1 hairstylist is 5in tall, dates from the 1980's and was a £1 find, probably worth £7 Ebay but bought for love not investment 😊

Doll Time:

The latest car boot find and doll renovation was a 1982 Pedigree Sindy with the so-called Princess Diana haircut. She is now wearing 'Candi Stripes' from 1983. The torso has faded a little.

Doll of the week.

Standing on the 'Monster High' shelf is a 'Ghoulia Yelps - Gloom Beach' doll with her blue hair, red glasses/purse from about 2011. She is quite rare as she was a unique doll in a pack that contained 4 others.

Doll Renovation

The latest car boot doll find has been brought back to full glory by the husband. She is a 2008 'Passion 4 Fashion - Destiny Bratz' & relatively rare, although on the inventory spreadsheet, I was under strict instruction to write "her feet are not original" but you all knew that 😊
