Fesshole nowadays reminds me of the stories that Kevin & Roger told me in 5th form in the late 80s which "were absolutely straight up 100% true".

Its more complex.
Its a test of one of following to see if you're:

1. gay out of curiosity
2. excited by the task as she likes you
3. excited by the tast as she's michievous & wants to see you suffer false hope
4. excited, but she doesnt fancy you but wants the attention as validation or just bored

If Lord Heseltine tried to join Conservatives today he'd be refused.

Live long enough as Hesaltine has (he's now 92), and you get to see your successors repeat the mistakes your predessors made.

The centre has 3 parties.
The right is where its at.

Theres literally no where to go for the Tories - and yet they are "the natural party of govt".

Nothing is working.
nickcraw.bsky.social
Theres a weirder thing going on here.

Many Tories are simply hoping for a post Brexit John Major govt. The normal way of politics is to tack to the centre after losing an election, at same time the current feeling is they must chase Farage voters.

They've no idea what to do as nothing is working.

I'm a late arrival to the wonderul "slow horses".

If you can get past the "gratuitous grimy-ness" (a wierd concept in itself) then the series becomes exceptionally addictive.

If the true mark of series is how quickly you want to help characters then Slow Horses is top notch.
Wonderfully done.

Britain was the birthplace of the railways.

Now we have a rail system worse than countries that were not even states last century or were communist or are not even 1st world countries.

Rail travel - my odyssey:
1) Booked a train to London using split tickets to make it £170 return instead of £240.
2) Train delayed. Next train is the same company and gets in later than planned train but split ticket doesn’t count. Nice staff say it is up to the train manager if he will let me on.

Im very much tean Odegaard - but lets be honest.
His injury allowed Arteta to bring on our natural Dm - Zubimendi, then put Rice in his natural position as roaming CM. Then minutes later Rice scored.

Truth is Rice-Zubimendi is our best midfield.
Which means 1 of Odegaard or Eze has to step out.

If the Tories are at 21% (charitable given recent polling) then the old non-fruitcake tendency of the remaining Conservatives is less than 7%.

This simply isn't enough to build a coalition from.
Its a Labour versus Reform election with the LibDems to peel the remaining old centre right Tories off.

Disagree.

The reasonable sane old liberal conservatives who havent already left the Tories after 8 years of this nonsense are never going to leave - and in any case their natural jump off point would be LibDems anyway.

Many working class Reform voters are never going to vote Tory.

Im not actually sure post 1991 Thatcher had that much to do with the Thatcher myth - sure she did the US speakers circuit, but my memory of the time is that Thatcher was largely irrelevant in UK.

The "idea of Thatcher" has long surpassed the women who politically died long before 2000.

Aha!

Then you should know that English always sounds better if conjugated like German! :-)

This is so dumb.

If a man telly you he cant control himself because of your clothing he's lying.

There's now a certain branch of feminism that buys into this stuff. It wears progressive clothes but is reinforcing myths of man as some wild beast. This wont help women & infantalises men & boys.

My grandad was a tory county councillor in Notts.
One time Winston Churchill visited the constituency - my grandad was caught in background of a photo of Churchill waving to someone.

That black & white photo was framed & put centre place in the main room in front of family photos for next 40 years.

More a rant than question:
2 weeks ago when Liverpool were getting late penalties against Burnley to go top the Guardian gushed about "unstoppable Liverpool".

7 games in with Arsenal now top the Guardian's "10 talking points from weekend" doesn't mention Arsenal.

This where the endless categorisation of sex gets us.

Sarah is not asexual.
She simply isn't.

Someone has told her she is.
Or she has told herself that in order to conform with social pressures when she was younger.
The Guardian really shouldn't be doing this.

This is how we do it: ‘Asexuality is a spectrum. I don’t experience sexual desire (but I do like having orgasms)’
Embracing Sarah’s asexuality has allowed her and Cameron to connect in many different ways

Its hard to explain to the under 30s just how important the Conservative Party was as an institution.

Millions of members, a conference packed to the streets, The "holy trinity" of the Royal family, Church of England & the Tories were the backbone of Britain.

The Tories barely even exist now.
