What zones (HR and Power) do you all ride for gravel races? I am trying to be more intentional this season instead of winging it with the hope I don't blink. #gravelcycling

I never worked in the restaurant business but after watching The Bear, I had the realization that food menus are designed for $/table and that’s what everything on the menu, including appetizers are all entree pricing.

#fattire season is coming. Sure, an air compressor is nice when seating tubeless tires, especially large-volume fat tires. With a little technique, you can seat a tire with a floor pump. Pre-seat the tire at least 50% on both sides, and pump, pump, pump!

I noticed this mug when editing photos from a stick-fire coffee hangout. Now, I’m not one to think or speak in superlatives, but I can also support this message because cars (now SUVs/trucks) without proper road infrastructure ruin the experience for other modes of transportation.

I wouldn’t need to apologize for sending an extra email to correct my previous mistake mail if more people would adopt Teams or Slack where you have the option to edit your mistakes.

Let email be the new snail mail!

I should also be better are proofreading before hitting send.

There is a life lesson in watching the transformation on my teeth with braces. You expect a straight path towards straight teeth but in reality my teeth are creating gaps and turns that I didn’t expect but I know that eventually I’ll get to the end result that I am seeking.

Homeowners will get the message once their city sends them a special assessment for road repairs adjacent to their property. Unfortunately for those who drive smaller vehicles or use public transit will be most impacted.
In 2023, United States pedestrian deaths reached a 40-year high. Heavier vehicles significantly worsen road wear and tear and increase tire particulate pollution.

Currently, Minnesota has no regulations to disincentivize the use of heavy or oversized vehicles.

Just like paint is not infrastructure, signs are not either. Making an argument that reducing speed limits will not decrease driving speed is not an argument for policy but rather an argument for redesigning road designs to make it physically uncomfortable to move faster than the desired speed.

This is a sidewalk near a parking lot. Easily accessible for vehicles to park their vehicles. If you don’t design spaces to stop unwanted behavior, you get this. Will they get tickets or be towed? Unlikely because enforcement is sparse due to staffing shortages.

No amount of signs or paint will stop unwanted driver behaviors. If a vehicle can fit or drive fast in the space, it will do so in the space. Design roads to physically prevent a behavior or you deal with the consequences of needing to rely on enforcement which is unreliable and expensive.

In a car-centric society, reports of a light rail derailment will gloss over the reason for the accident. Like mentioning a reckless large vehicle stuck in traffic drove off the road and knocked the concrete barrier into the track line.
