Sign the community letter outlining opposition to @mndot.mn.gov's premature recommendation to remove the boulevard options.

It may not seem like much, but every signature represents someone who believes a better future is possible.

You’re Invited to Nightmare on Our Streets!: https://streets.mn/2025/10/02/youre-invited-to-nightmare-on-our-streets/

Celebrate another year of safer streets advocacy with Our Streets at a lively gathering featuring community, conversation and plenty of good food.
A group of ten cyclists wearing helmets and cold-weather gear stand together smiling on a bridge, with their bikes in front of them. A city skyline and busy highway are visible in the background under a cloudy sky. Front and back view of a cream-colored T-shirt. The back has a large blue graphic of a city bus with bicycles and the words “joy ride” in bold text. The front has a small blue logo on the pocket that reads “our streets.”

For many, getting around without driving is a daily challenge, not a choice. We're ditching the driver's seat and participating in #WeekWithoutDriving to understand how communities serve (or fail) those who walk, roll, bike, carpool or take transit.

It also emphasizes that “components can be interchanged to eventually reach the one design alternative that best responds to the needs of adjacent neighborhoods.”

These concepts came directly from years of community outreach. The report emphasizes these roadway designs should be paired with anti-displacement policies to protect existing and low-income residents from experiencing additional displacement and gentrification.

The roadway design concepts demonstrate different uses for the approximately 12 acres of land that will be made available by the proposed changes: one that offers a linear park, another dedicated to mixed-use development, and the third a tree-lined transitway.
Three options showing one with a big park and bus rapid transit, another with neighborhood blocks/mixed-use development, and the last showing some mixed-used development and a transitway with trees

Last week, we published a report outlining three roadway design concepts to consider for the future of the Olson Memorial Highway.
