Tim Cook’s call for “deescalation” is meaningless without specifying which side he’s calling upon to change course, and there’s no weaker sauce than the weak sauce of “both sides”.

Against my better judgment, I read this article. No idea who David Marcus is, but he's painfully stupid. Apparently what makes these "wine moms" criminal is their "obnoxious smugness" and "disturbing glee." It's so bad, Marcus claims, it might even be "a conspiracy."

Spoiler: It's not.

If calling a state secret police agent a murderer for committing murder will lead to more murder by the state secret police, it sure seems like the problem is with the secret police
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

Trump’s Selective Memory: “Not Familiar” With Assassinated Democratic Lawmaker While Raging About “Left-wing Violence”
Donald Trump's response to political violence this week reveals something more sinister than mere hypocrisy—it's the deliberate construction of a false reality where only certain victims matter and only certain perpetrators exist. After days of raging about "left-wing violence" following Charlie Kirk's shooting, Trump was asked about Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman, who was assassinated by a Trump supporter just months ago.

Remember, just because you find gun violence revolting, are an empathetic human-being, and have concern for the welfare of your fellow humans, that doesn't mean you are required to participate in the hagiography of an asshole.

Fake “Free Speech” Champion Clay Higgins Now Wants To Use Gov’t Power To Silence Anyone Who “Belittles” Kirk’s Death
Rep. Clay Higgins wants to use his government power to ban Americans from the internet for life if they say unkind things about Charlie Kirk's death. Yes, the same Clay Higgins who just two years ago co-sponsored the "Protecting Speech from Government Interference Act"—a performative bill that did literally nothing except restate that government actors cannot engage in censorship.

When tossed an absolute softball opportunity to demonstrate that he is, in fact, a human and not a ghoulish shithead, Trump’s response is “Meh. Anyway, look over there at the self-aggrandizing project I started because I am very insecure about my penis.”
Q: My condolences on the loss of your friend Charlie Kirk. How are you holding up?

TRUMP: I think very good. And by the way, right there you see all the trucks. They just started construction of the new ballroom for the White House, which is something they've been trying to get for about 150 years.

Donald Trump is a shithead.

He is also clearly very insecure about his penis.
EARHARDT: We have radicals on the right as well. How do we fix this country?

TRUMP: I'll tell you something that's gonna get me in trouble but I couldn't care less. The radicals on the right oftentimes are radical because they don't want to see crime. The radicals on the left are the problem.

This statement from the NSF is insane.

Science is, in essence, designed to separate the true from the false.

Understanding how falsehoods spread is key to the scientific endeavor. It is not a violation of free speech to be proven wrong.
