Disability advocate and accessibility specialist. My paid gig is lead developer. Husband, geek, and father. He/Him.

I'm trying to be a nicer person.
I saw a post not long ago where a developer suggested that because they build their WordPress sites "right," their clients don't need any maintenance plan.

This is a myth.

The biggest security risk for any WordPress site is out-of-date software.

Have you ever seen italics or other "fancy" text in social media and wondered, "How do they do that?"

A better question might be "what does that sound like in a screen reader?"

Turns out it's not accessible. Watch this video to hear how screen readers handle these "fancy fonts."

I was researching for a new Instagram Reels series I am starting, Mythbusting Accessible Parking. I found that the laws around "stopping" in accessible parking are vague in certain states.

In Georgia, the law calls out stopping, standing, and parking.

In Virginia, the laws only mention parking.

I 3D printed a guitar pick and it works well. The material is wearing a bit fast so I might need to switch to something more durable like nylon.

But I have some ideas to print larger, easier to hold picks with replaceable tips.

I’m having more issues with grip, so this could be great.

Got some new filament and I love it. But now I kinda want to take up stop motion animation just to animate this wolf pup tugging on the key ring like a puppy.

And this is the other grocery store. At least they have some eggs. More than they had on Sunday.

I wonder why tfg went on about the gulf of America and invading other countries instead of explaining how he is going to bring the price of eggs down?

I guess eggs can’t be too expensive when there are no eggs to buy.

Mrs. the Geek had work today. She said the roads through town were better than our neighborhood, which is great compared to Monday, but the lot where she works is packed snow and ice.

They say that planting native plants will attract butterflies. It looks like butterfly dragons are attracted to plum blossoms.

Made lentils and beef in the smoker. It was much better than the already amazing slow cooker version we usually make.

It is thick and hearty with a rich layer of flavors. The lentils were perfect and the beef was wonderfully tender.

Didn’t get the Thai basil and ours isn’t exactly alive any more. But this was a really good, quick dinner.

Sadly, that was the last of the phō broth so next time I’ll be making it from scratch again.

I make so much I put back 3 gallons last time and have been able to do 3 quick meals with it.
