Every story beat played like gangbusters to a sold-out crowd. From the cheering children behind me to the adults whooping for a bygone patriotic stand against fascists, The Rocketeer is needed more in 2026 than he was in 1991.

(The New Bev screened an immaculate original release print.)

I had some Blue Prince dice engraved, so I can reroll my office as needed.

Seeing the Pee Wee's Playhouse Christmas Special on a big screen with a packed house was transcendent.

The Cloud Atlas 4K disk from @shoutstudios.bsky.social includes a new 2-hour retrospective documentary, which reassembles the team to discuss a project they poured their whole hearts into 14 years ago. I found it deeply touching.

The Wachowski faithful should not hesitate on this release.

Triennial meeting of the Payakan fan club was a rousing success.

FIRE & ASH has more themes, more drama, more sex, more drugs, and more whale subtitles than I ever could have dreamed. I loved it.

I'll see as many of these movies as they care to make.

I hope the elderly reindeer with an ear trumpet from the Fleischer Rudolph short is having a happy Christmas season.

I appreciate that each character received their own unique cloud backdrop, with the later example adding airbrushed lightning bolts.

I think a modern, full-motion version of these summary cards with the characters posing for camera would be charming. Filing away for future use.

Like many of the special effects shots in the chapters themselves, these summary cards appear to be achieved with paper cutouts.

When two characters were included, their scales did not always match.

Currently obsessing over the design of Republic Serial summary title cards that caught up the audience on the events of the previous chapter.

I know this is too much to expect, but how cool would it be if the Blue Prince vinyl had a hidden double-groove with the audio of Herbert's bequeathal?

99 years ago today, Mary Poppins made her first appearance in a newspaper short story.

I found it a few years back, after searching for more than a decade, and have presented it for comparison at MaryPoppinsAndTheMatchMan.com.

Thankfully, the fans have successfully prepped security to expect robes and orbs over the last six years! (They even started selling official orbs and snuggies a few years back.)

In our increasingly digital hellscape, these letterpress prints of Starcruiser fan-favorite phrases have warmed my jaded heart.

I'm fully ready for an age of analog fanart.

14 years later, that edit, based on my original comp, ends up in Tron Ares.

I hope the unknowing oracle CB2001 is thrilled to find that the picture did, in fact, make a great prop in the sequel.

End of line.

One user, CB2001, casually comments, "You know... This would be a great picture to use as a prop in the next film."

Then, DeviantArt user Pencilshade saw my edit and posted their own variation based on it:
