Glass-plate transparencies from 1908-1918, collected by Herbert Geddes, document Japan’s temples, streets, silk factories, and labor. These hand-colored “Yokohama Photographs” were sold to tourists before postcards. Made from glass negatives, they retain remarkable clarity and detail.
