Old folks get made fun of when they retire and get addicted to video slots or whatever, but boy it sure seems like gambling is spreading like a societal cancer. Every video game has loot boxes/some kind of gambling as an increasingly prevalent element, not to mention the spread of sports gambling.

For some reason my wife is still sore about the time I put on a 4-hour hardcore history episode when it was my turn to pick something on a road trip. Whats All This Then has been a great boon for us becasue it's the only thing on my phone that has official Wife Approval.

Western Europe faces many similar problems, so I've been fantasizing about central or south America. Learning Spanish wouldn't be too bad and there are some beautiful and safe places. I'm thinking Uruguay or Costa Rica.
