Rule of thumb: software doesn’t work. Take it from someone who’s been making software for decades, and who has helped millions of other people make software. It’s as flawed and stupid as humans are.
way too many articles about surveillance technology treat computer programmers as about a half-step removed from literal wizards and the questions they ask are like "peter smith can predict with pinpoint accuracy whether you will shoplift—but SHOULD HE?" instead of "does this shit even work"

I’m very much enjoying being able to wake up and do work when i want instead of being stuck in a 9-5. as much as i miss the comfort of a reliable paycheque, i don’t miss being forced to work at times that don’t work with my body. whether i like it or not I’m most efficient from ~3pm until midnight
