Exact words were "a great and tragic love story", I believe. I see three possible explanations here. 1) she hasn't read it, 2) she has spectacularly poor reading comprehension, just no critical analysis skills at all, or 3) a thing I can't say under UK's extremely broad defamation laws.

It was the usual thing, iirc: employer didn't follow proper procedure, and we suffer for it.
