Sometimes they're really obvious. I saw this one today. See how it smashes certain keywords and hashtags in different configurations, always with that engagement-driving question, trying to pull people in.

So many spammy AI comments in here these days, especially in small niches like queer Booksky. I just caught one from an account I followed, which now makes it personal.

Many users are following accounts like this. You probably do too. Short thread I guess 🧵

Drafting on my next novel is going slow but steady! It's out of my genre comfort zone but I'm really excited about this one. For now, my WIP has the extremely tentative working title "Farm Fresh Eggs." I'm certain that will change whenever I think of something more on theme or genre-appropriate.

Does Kindle Unlimited start pushing books hard a week before the KDP Select period lapses? It could be a coincidence, but it also feels like an algorithmic ploy to get authors to re-enroll and keep ebooks Amazon exclusive for 90 more days.

Our Simulated Selves hit #7 in LGBTQ+ sci-fi 😮

I got lucky with a TikTok and sold 7 copies in the past 4 days. That's a surprisingly small amount of sales to reach the top 10, but I'm overwhelmed and grateful.

I wonder how many sales it'd take to hit first place for a day? Watch out, Chuck Tingle!

I'm a trans writer who self-published a sci-fi novel!
Our Simulated Selves by Nikki Null.

A depressed programmer scanned his brain to run a dating simulation to see if he could've dated his coworker. But his simulated self has wildly different plans. It's like the Matrix, but even MORE trans.

I wrote a trans sci-fi novel, "Our Simulated Selves"!

Ren is as oblivious to his overwhelming gender dysphoria as to the fact that the world is a creepy dating sim controlled by his miserable real-life counterpart.

A must-read for fans of Black Mirror, The Matrix, Eternal Sunshine, and estrogen!

Our Simulated Selves, a mind-bending trans sci-fi about simulated realities, a digital apocalypse, brainscanners, estrogen, and tabletop gaming at a cozy queer café.

Here we go. Cover teaser for OUR SIMULATED SELVES!

No AI ever; ASCII forever.
I was super close to commissioning a traditional cover, but then I ran out of money and had to do something on my own. So it goes. Here's part of it. I'm super happy with the full cover, and can't wait to share it soon!

A rare Renaissance Faire selfie. Skipped Irwindale this year because Koroneburg is the better experience (especially if you have kids.) Smaller crowds, lower prices, more shade, and far more owls.
