Eno rolled down his window.
“IDs, boys.”
We both dug in our pockets for the squares of rigid plastic that contained stolen profiles. I held my breath as I held it high for the guard to scan.
“What’s up with you?” he said.
“Me? Blind.”
He grunted. “You know, I always wondered. Why bother with the wraps an’ dark glasses an’ all if you can’t see nothing?”
“It’s for your benefit, not mine. Freaks people out to see the scars.”
He gave a long, “ohhh” of understanding. “Sorry you won’t get to enjoy the dancers while you’re here. Welcome to Sector Two.” He’d already turned for the next vehicle.
I was surprised with how easily that lie had come out of my mouth. Wes would have been proud.

Lock always imagined rain in the desert would be a welcome and soothing thing. The soot in Seba’s air, however, made wet weather feel dirty. It was climate that spread illness. Illness he had no doubt that was festering among the refugees in Malison Coliseum. The people were dying a slow death, and although he knew Cassie wasn’t among them, he couldn’t help but imagine her out there in similar conditions: cold, sick, and dying.

“Hi, welcome to Fullcrest Potions! How can I help?” She burst through the beaded curtain and locked eyes with the man in the lobby. Tall, blonde hair, and wearing a black suit, the man oozed arrogance and power. Before he even said a word, he took out a wand from his sleeve and waved it over himself and then pointed it at her. She immediately felt the noise level in the shop drop by ninety percent. The enchanted equipment’s hum was now deafened and the air conditioner running in the humid summer heat was now gone. She was pretty sure even the faint buzz of the electricity was gone as well now. The only sound was his footsteps inching towards her and the sound of the blood rushing in her ears.

Exactly. There's something very old world about their designs... And, if more Americans would wake up and remember our history, it's what most Americans came here to leave behind, whether came in 1620 or 2025. (With the notable exceptions of those who were given no choice, and those who were here.)

Welp, I'd lay odds that's a family that won't vote Republican any more. The combination of cruelty, cowardice, and incompetence is something to behold.

I predict massive waves of domestic incidents with these ICE workers. All this brutality, it won't end at the workday.

Yeah I saw the clip where she claims she was "assaulted." I think. It was like three weeks ago, so she'd have no black eye, and it looked like she deliberately walked into a flagpole, and it barely grazed her. I could be wrong.

Like I said before, the antifa meeting is theatrics for Trump.

I kind of went down a tea rabbit hole and usually make it in a little clay teapot with lots of short steps, or sometimes just loose leaf in a ceramic teapot with a filter. That way the leaves expand and you get the full taste.

That being said, I also like black tea in a tea bag with milk and sugar

It must be noted, in addition to it being horrifying, Jocelyn from Cicero sounds like Jocelyn from Cicero. So she's an American. It would be horrifying regardless. It is measures of more horror that they assigned seven fat men to drag one terrified small woman out of a car with no warrant.
