We have a bit on that in section 4.2, we look at spillovers to other supermarkets nearby and other crimes - there’s not a lot of evidence on spillovers. The other bit to keep in mind - shoplifting increases everywhere over the time period - just a lot less strongly at Tesco than elsewhere.

This started out as Wednesday's undergrad dissertation. Supervising undergrad dissertations has always been one of the aspects of the job I like the most, so it’s particularly nice to see outcomes such as this! Very fun project to do as well!

If you thought the PM’s speech was punchy, his foreword to the immigration white paper says high net migration has done “incalculable damage” to the country.

That is a serious shift in tone for a Labour government/party.
