Working on book edits today, and going back over photos from my research trip in 2023. I go up to London pretty regularly, but hadn't been out this way since I was little, when our nana used to take us all over the city. There's a lot about Marchfield that was inspired by her.

Thrilled to receive some copies of the North American version of 10 Marchfield Square this week. So different to the UK cover but just as apt, really bringing out the Rear Window in London inspiration.

Lovely dog walk tonight. The rain kept everyone else away, so we got the whole sunset to ourselves. I’ll share it with you though.

Wonderful review from The Bookish Elf this week. Sometimes, a reader just absolutely gets what you were trying to do, and it feels amazing.

I was away for 4 whole days last week, doing book stuff, and genuinely missed this little goon.

So here it is, finally. Me and my debut novel.
I wrote my first murder mystery aged 15. There were way too many dismembered body parts for a children’s book, but we live and learn.
10 MARCHFIELD SQUARE is a contemporary whodunnit with Only Murders energy. If this is your jam, please check it out!

Today is the day my debut murder mystery is published! 🎉
I wrote my first crime novel when I was fifteen, and thirty years later, it's beyond exciting to finally be sharing a book with the world. Thanks to @bloomsburyraven.bsky.social for believing in me and this story.

The Crime and Nourishment event took place in Cambridge today, run by the fabulous Bodies in the Bookshop.
To everyone who bought a copy, thank you - you made my week.
Sadly, I once again failed to take pictures of a special event so this is what we have. And yes, I did have 2 cups of tea!

Frost! 2025 starts with a meteor AND frost. I’m taking both those things as good omens.

Saw a comet tonight, as I was enjoying the beautiful clear skies. It shot across the sky and disappeared into fire. Here’s a nice shot of the plough above a blurry tree, because I’m still struggling to get the hang of my new phone camera.

View from the weir at South Mill, Amesbury. I feel as if I haven’t seen sunshine in about 3 months, so lights in the darkness is all there is. Usually, there’s at least frost to cheer the winter months but dreich is all we’ve had this year. Roll on Spring.
