What is Kleven on that whole sequence? He chases the wrong guy to open up the first shot and then closes to nobody on the rebound while leaving his side open for a tap in goal.

If Cozens was actually viewed as a high end 2C then he wouldn’t have been available for Josh Norris’ albatross deal. It was two teams swapping bad contracts and hoping a change in scenery would help. This year he’s been a far bit better, great outcome for the Sens

Not to be glib, but he has not ever been very good and last year in his time in Ottawa he didn’t change my mind. Would be great if he’s leveled up

Branny was better than lots of other options the Sens had when he was here (and I’d contend is still better than say Kleven and Mantipalo) but not so clearly better as for it to be self-evidently foolish to bench him.

As an addendum to this, and because I always like making things about Erik Brannstrom, Spence helps you win too much to be ignored. Coaches will likely never appreciate his style, but the results are the results and they’re stellar. Branny also helped winning but his results weren’t undeniable.
