I beat my previous 5K PR by 45-seconds!! One day, I will run 26.2mi at this pace. Today, I did it for 3.1mi. This was challenging. This was fun. I love running.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Mike Yastrzemski has accumulated more WAR than Cody Bellinger since the start of the 2020 season.

It’s been a while since I’ve specifically targeted a zone 2 run without any speed or interval training thrown into the mix. This felt amazing. I forgot how much discipline it takes to stay in this zone and not start cranking up the speed. I’ll definitely be mixing these into my routine more often.

My splits. I ran solo for my first 9 miles, had the kids with me for miles 10-14, and then finished out solo. Average pace: 9’26”/mile. Under 9’00”/mile for the solo portions combined. I’m no elite athlete, but I’m extremely grateful to be able bodied and capable of covering this type of ground.

I love how the critics consensus for Rocky Balboa is that it’s implausible, but we pretty much just watched it happen today.

S-Tier Star Wars droids. I guess I’m just a sucker for a good droid companion.

I’ve been taking my runs slow since the race on 11/3. It’s been really nice to just get out and cruise without set pace targets. Right now I’m just keeping my aerobic base and miles up while taking in the scenery. I’ll resume speed and interval training once the new year rolls around.

Don’t worry. GIFs will be implemented one day and then we’ll get to use this.
