Did you know that MVD offers a special vehicle registration to notify law enforcement about drivers or passengers with a medical diagnosis, condition, or disability that could affect how they communicate? Find the form to sign up at www.mvd.newmexico.gov/forms/

MVD Mobile ID Accepted YES! New Mexico Mobile ID is VALID FAQ How do I rent a Mobile ID reader? How much does it cost? MVD has several Credence Mobile ID readers available for trial usage, at no cost to you! The business borrowing the verification terminal must sign a memorandum of understanding, agreeing to return the terminal to MVD within a certain period. How do I change the minimum acceptable age on the verifier app or reader? Generally, the apps offer an option in settings or configuration (depending on which app you use) to change the acceptable minimum age. The physical readers can also be configured via the online Verify with Credence management portal. Is privacy at risk with Mobile IDs? No. Mobile IDs actually offer more privacy than physical IDs. The ID holder doesn't have to share unnecessary information included on IDs, like address or weight, to verifier apps or scanners. Are Mobile IDs secure? Yes. Verifier apps or devices built using ISO/EIC 18013-5 standards use....

Taxation & Revenue New Mexico logo November 13, 2025 Press Release New Mexico MVD expands Mobile ID program State launches free verification terminal loaner program for businesses The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division today announced the launch of its Mobile ID Reader Loaner Program, an effort to boost Mobile ID acceptance among New Mexico businesses. The program allows businesses to enter into an agreement with MVD to temporarily loan out Tap2iD readers – age verification terminals – for free. The New Mexico Wine Association and Happy Accidents, a bar in Albuquerque, are among the first local entities to utilize the Tap2iD readers. “New Mexico Wine is thrilled to be the first participating business in the MVD's Mobile ID Reader Loaner Program,” said New Mexico Wine Executive Director Christopher Goblet.
