There is no exception.
I don't know what they've been doing with the new GitHub UI, but this is borderline unusable. Marking a notification as done flashbangs me with a white screen, the UI crawls when showing me basic CI status, and is struggling to load my own personal repos. The Zig devs had the right idea to leave.

Gave Typst a whirl to update my resume for the first time in 4 years. I love it! Its such a better experience than using LaTeX, and seems to come batteries included that it doesn't need to clutter my OS packages.

For someone who has even a remote understanding of how to build a modern website, every part of interacting with administering a Squarespace website is utter pain. Outside of giving free reign to non-technical types, there should be zero reason why we build sites on that suffocating platform.

Can we please stop with emailing codes for MFA? My inbox has been flooded and I swear none of these emails are PGP encrypted.

Just mere days after I unfreeze my credit, I get hit with an identity fraud attempt. Spent the majority of yesterday dealing with the credit agencies with limited success. This is ridiculous.

Sometimes I wish airlines would just anesthetize me, pack us all in like sardines, and wake us all up on the other side. Would save us the trouble of being bored 10,000+ ft in the air for 5-18 hours, and they'd likely be able to sell more tickets.

Zed's advertisements really are poorly structured. Why should I care about an IDE that switches tabs at 120 FPS? How does this tangibly improve my programming experience?

The BlueSky app just sent me a notification despite me being logged out in the app itself. Any atproto wizards know why this might be? Or is it just an auth edge case the BlueSky team hasn't considered?

Trying to think of a non-trivially recursive function that is not memoizable and prohibitively expensive to turn into an iterative solution. Currently failing.
Recursion is a mental illness. You want to do WHAT to my call stack?? How do people think it's natural to put a thing inside itself? Literally makes me sick just thinking about it

Beware of the Discord users saying they "love cute girls".

Another mod on a server I share just got this report.

No, they did not elaborate.

Reminder to put things in perspective: People are all worried if Rust categorizes a target as tier 2, but all GCC targets for C and C++ are tier 3 in Rust terms:

With the recent influx of Windows refugees, I've finally seen a small handful of UI/UX designers start looking at contributing to Linux related projects.

Excited to see the default experience for a lot of distros and DEs improve over time. The nerd rage and gatekeeping, not so much.

I look at the Bevy feed on BlueSky and a good eighth of the posts are from FFXIV players g-posing at Bayside Bevy.

Is a sign Square Enix should be investing in ECS game engines. Or that Bevy should enable development for the PS3?

$100+ billion a year into cancer research and treatment and many cases are still a death sentence. What a joke.

Watching the entire ffmpeg social media spat has been a masterclass in poor FOSS governance.

Hyperaggro social media, abuse of CoC violations, calls for a 10+ year project lead to step down over a vote, etc: all in one thread.

Can a project like this be trusted to use donations correctly?

It's borderline criminal how cheap good food is here. A delicious bowl of tendon is sub-$7.50 USD.

Anyone advocating for Rust because it is "memory safe" needs to stop using the term and instead focus on its use in eliminating undefined behavior.

The nomenclature mismatch really makes it hard to communicate with other parties and only encourages bad faith whataboutisms.
