auxm is the general suggestion now. Minimal, extendable, ergonomic, fast. Rocket somehow underperforms Python frameworks.

If you need a website and if you or someone else that works for you has some understanding on how to build a site, Squarespace is wholly not worth your time. Do not torture yourself, or, worse yet, some unfortunate engineer, with using such a broken mess of a platform.

With how easy it is to piece together a decent looking site without a $20-40/mo subscription, I swear, the site is just yet another grift to charge Paretian rent on a minimum web presence for businesses.

Don't get me wrong, there's a time and place for WYSIWYG editors for making websites for laymen, but it's not like you need a damn CS degree to make a portfolio/resume website.

Their "Saved Sections" don't actually update all simultaneously when you change one. I need to remember to copypasta the same section over and over. How the fuck does this hellsite gets outdone by your prototypical static site generator is beyond me.

The layout options are ALWAYS off by a tad and non-conformant with good design.

Their help site infinite loops on "Gathering resources" instead of giving me the damn information I need.

Their editor is about on par with early 2000's Dreamweaver yet hogs nearly 1 GB+ of RAM.

I found this to be the case too when I started using Rust. However, with everything being an expression in the language, I've come to recognize how useful it is. For example, a if/match expression can be the entire function body, there's no need for a "return if ..." or a return in each branch.
