Probably, he's been quite bad but that front office is loaded with family so it's not clear how much you can really move those deck chairs around.

Both coached QBs who won at least 3 MVP awards.

They're both Super Bowl champs.

He's not in the division though

Given how the Giants operate, this makes him basically impossible to fire.

Assuming Goedert is gone this offseason, both OTs and Saquon turning 30+, Dickerson and DeVonta both turning 29, and the pipeline behind those guys not exactly stacked...

Sure, that was an issue but they also had to clean house because they could not keep the folks who had been affiliated with that team around after it ended the way it did.

This is how you end up having Todd Bowles in the building and getting none of the good parts of his career.

As ever, I hope they get weird. Plus there are some very funny names out there. Please talk to Indiana's Mike Shanahan. How about Jordan Davis from ECU? GJ Kinne's old right hand man, Mack Leftwich?

Daboll's vibe is toxic and you can really see the situation where he and Sirianni engage in a quarter-long fistfight on the sideline. That said, there's more than a little "OC Josh McDaniels" to him and I don't think he's in line for any future coaching jobs.
January 14, 2026 at 11:38 PM
I understand the allure of a Shanahan scheme guy but I also have seen McDaniel let his QB regularly get his body and brain absolutely destroyed to finish .500 as a HC and I'm not sure that's the path forward.
January 14, 2026 at 11:38 PM
I don't have a strongly developed view on the OC except that I don't think they should hire someone for that role whom they think they might someday want to hire as an HC. (So that's probably a "no" on Stefanski and Kinne).

The funniest thing about Indiana currently being good is that their OC is named Mike Shanahan and apparently no relation.
